What goes on it

Everything below is in the build price. Nothing on this list is an extra you find out about later.

What you do, and where

The first thing your customer checks is whether you do their job in their suburb.

  • Up to five pages, written from your words
  • Your own photos of your own work
  • Each service you want more of, named the way they would search it
  • The suburbs you cover, in the footer and on the contact page

How they get hold of you

Most of your customers will find you on a phone, standing somewhere else.

  • Built for phones first, then checked on a desktop
  • An enquiry form that lands in your inbox
  • Your own domain connected, so the address is yours
  • Two rounds of changes before it goes live

How Google reads it

The technical side is done properly in every build, and that is where it stops.

  • Page titles, descriptions and headings set up for each page
  • A sitemap, so every page can be found and read
  • Help bringing your Google Business Profile into line with the site
  • No promise of rankings, traffic or a number of enquiries

Your Google Business Profile, matched to the site

When your customer searches for a plumber nearby, the profile is often the first thing they see, before the website. If the two disagree on your number or your hours, they notice.

Help with the profile is part of every build, not a separate service. Styled live reviews on the site itself are an add-on, priced below. What the profile help covers.

What I do with you

  • Your business name, number, hours and website link checked against the site
  • Your categories and the services you list reviewed with you
  • Your service area set to the suburbs the site names
  • A plain way to ask a happy customer for a review, using the link Google gives you

What nobody can promise you

  • Verification, which is Google’s process and on Google’s timetable
  • Removing a review you do not like, or writing reviews for you
  • A place in the map results, which nobody can promise

What people add to a website

The extras a website most often takes, at the same prices as the pricing page. Add only what you need.

How a build runs

From the first figure to the site going live, in the order it happens.

  1. You get a quote

A few questions and the figure is on screen, fixed, off our price list. You do not have to ring anyone to see it.

  2. We talk for fifteen minutes

The jobs you want more of, the suburbs you cover, and a start date. Scope and date are agreed before any deposit.

  3. You send words and photos

Your own words about the work and your own photos of it. Copywriting and photo help are there if you want them.

  4. I build it

Two to three weeks once the content is in, with two rounds of changes. You see it before anyone else does.

  5. It goes live

Your domain points at it, and the monthly starts that day. Not before.

After it goes live

The monthly, $79/month on a plain website, keeps it running and changing with you.

  • Hosting and the SSL certificate
  • Software updates and security patching
  • Uptime monitoring and investigation of alerts
  • Thirty minutes of changes a month, rolled over up to two hours

Cancel any time with thirty days' notice. You keep the domain and the files; I'll hand them over and help you move. No exit fee.

What is not in it

Said up front, so nothing is a surprise on the invoice.

  • I do not take photos. You supply your own photos or arrange your own photographer.
  • Domain registration, renewal and external mailbox, feed, publishing or map tile fees are separate.
  • No promise of search rankings, indexing or traffic.
  • Bookings, payments and other custom work need a separate scope and price.
  • Ongoing writing, social content and Google Ads management are not included.

One real build, written up

Two builds a month makes for a short list. This is the one client written up in full: what was built, what it asks and what changed.

Quoting is open to new builds now, and already runs on a client’s site. A plain website can take quoting later, without a rebuild. How the quoting works.
