How Much Does a Tradie Website Cost in Australia?

Compare DIY costs, published Australian website prices and AllTradie's build and monthly costs, with the extras to check before paying.

By AllTradie7 min read
Website cost checklist: the build covers pages and content, the monthly covers hosting and care, and extras include domains and tools

For a paid website build, the Australian examples below range from $2,500 including GST to $5,500–$8,000 excluding GST. DIY means paying for a subscription or hosting and doing the build yourself. Compare the starting price, ongoing bill and work left for you.

These are published supplier examples with different scopes, rather than a market average. Prices were checked on 27 October 2026. AllTradie sells website builds and is included in the comparison.

Self-managed WordPress means WordPress.org software, rather than a WordPress.com subscription; its documentation covers updates and backups.

What makes a paid build more expensive?

The supplier's label matters less than the work included. A solo developer can build custom functionality; an agency can sell a template-based site. These additions commonly increase the scope:

  • Writing pages from a conversation instead of using supplied words.
  • Arranging photography, preparing images or creating a new identity.
  • Adding pages with distinct service information.
  • Moving an old site and redirecting important page addresses.
  • Connecting booking, payment or job-management software.
  • Building and checking custom pricing rules.

Ask how many rounds of changes are included and who tests that your enquiry form reaches your inbox. AllTradie's Website starting point covers up to five pages using your supplied words and ready-to-use photos, with two revision rounds. Copywriting and other additions are priced separately.

What will you pay after launch?

Your domain is the address; hosting keeps the site available. Maintenance is the agreed work after launch, such as updates, monitoring or content changes. Hosting alone does not mean someone will fix a broken form for you.

For a domain example, VentraIP advertises .com.au registration from $9.95/year against a displayed standard price of $22.95/year. Check eligibility, tax treatment and the actual renewal price. Likewise, compare a builder's renewal rate with its introductory offer before paying for several years.

AllTradie's Website care is $79/month, or $790 paid for the year. It includes hosting, SSL, software updates, uptime monitoring and 30 minutes of changes per month, rolled over up to two hours. Domain fees and external subscriptions such as mailboxes are separate.

The base Website build plus 12 monthly care payments totals $3,448 in the first year, before additions, domain fees or external subscriptions. The monthly starts when the site goes live. No GST is charged because AllTradie is not GST registered.

What do quoting and booking systems add?

A form collects information for you to read. A quote flow also applies your own prices to defined work, so you need clear inclusions, exclusions and a way to handle jobs outside those rules.

AllTradie's standard online quoting setup adds $1,200 to the base website. It covers up to 60 price variations across 10 job types, with up to two follow-up questions per job type. Quoting care is $199/month when quoting goes live, or $1,990 paid for the year; price changes use the monthly changes allowance. A plain website can take quoting later without a rebuild.

Booking setup needs a separate scope. An enquiry you confirm is different from automatically reserving a time. Ask about calendar connections, travel buffers, confirmation messages and software fees. Bookings and payments are not included in AllTradie's two published starting points.

Which costs are easy to miss?

Before paying a deposit, get these written down:

  • Tax: is GST included, added or not charged?
  • Content: who writes the pages and supplies usable photos?
  • Renewals: what renews, when and at what price after the offer ends?
  • Email: are mailbox fees and moving old email included?
  • Changes: what does care cover, and what costs extra?
  • Moving: who handles the domain and old page addresses?
  • Cancellation: what notice, exit fees or remaining payments apply?

Will you own the site and be able to leave?

Check who controls the domain, website account, content and files. Ask what you can export and whether another developer can run the site elsewhere. A copy of your words is different from a complete working website.

At AllTradie you keep the domain and files. Cancellation needs 30 days' notice, there is no exit fee, and handover help is included. Compare the current pricing terms with your written scope.

If you are still deciding whether to spend anything, read when a tradie needs a website. When comparing suppliers, give each the same scope and ask for a first-year total.
